Bio
Hi, my name is Julie Jackson and I grew up in Elba, Alabama. I graduated from Elba High School in 1987 and attended Troy University on a full academic scholarship. I graduated with my degree in Biology, Comprehensive Science, and English and went to work teaching Chapter I Language Arts at Escambia County High School in Atmore, Alabama. I then moved back home and began teaching science at New Brockton High School. In 1996, I transferred to Elba High School where I taught English, chemistry, and journalism. In 2005, the opportunity for change presented itself, and my family and I decided that we truly wanted to be REBELS!
My children, Aaron, Brooklyn, and Christen, graduated from Zion Chapel in 2018 and are off pursuing careers. I officially retired in May of 2019 but still contract to teach because I love my students. I officially retired in May of 2019 but returned to the classroom in August of 2021.
I enjoy reading, fishing, going to the beach, gardening, and spending time with my first grandchild, Nora Kate.
I am looking forward to a great year. GO REBELS!
