Bio

My name is Ember Griswold and I teach the third grade at Zion Chapel. I spent the first 15 years of my teaching career in the fourth grade. I had the opportunity to change grades to third. I will admit, I am loving it!!! My father was in the military and I grew up moving around. We came to Fort Rucker in 1990 and I have made this area my home ever since. I graduated from Enterprise High School. I attended Enterprise State Junior College and received an Associates degree. I then transferred to Troy State University, where I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education in 1999. I began teaching at Zion Chapel in 1999. I have made this my home. I truly enjoy working with the teachers, students and parents of this community.

I am married to Darrell who is a New Brockton Gamecock alumni. (We won't hold that against him!) I have a son, Sid who is a refueler at Fort Rucker. This year we will be adding a daughter in law to our mix. We enjoy doing things together as a family, especially fishing! I caught a 12 1/2 lb. bass many years ago! Several years ago, I was afforded the opportunity to go to Japan with my mother, sister and grandmother to meet my extended family. It was such a rewarding experience. My sister currently lives in Hawaii and I got to the "Big Island" and hike out to see a live lava flow. It was an experience that I will NEVER forget! My mother and father have just recently moved to Virginia. I enjoyed getting to travel to our nations Capitol. I love to travel and every chance I get to visit Texas or Hawaii~ I will be there!!

In 2017 I was selected to become an AMSTI (Alabama Math and Science Technology Initiative) trainer. I get to travel around the state teaching other third grade teachers how to teach our science kits. I love spreading my love, knowledge and excitement for science to other teachers!

I am looking forward to another exciting year at Zion Chapel. #bestyearyet #zcisnumberone
