About Me

Hey! My name is Ashley Currie :)

I am originally from Dothan where I graduated from Dothan High with honors. I was a cheerleader, played volleyball, softball, ran track, member of yearbook staff and several other clubs and organizations. I started my college career at Wallace Community College as a Diplomat and completed my basics. This is also where I met my husband Jeremy, my college sweetheart! I then transferred to Troy University to complete my Bachelors in Math Education. While I was going to school, I worked as a kennel worker/vet tech/receptionist at two Veterinary Clinics, one in Dothan the other in Troy. I love animals and really enjoyed this job. After receiving my degree, my first teaching job was at Barbour County Middle School as the the 8th grade Math Teacher. While teaching, I decided to continue my college career and earn my Masters degree in Math Education. I taught for 5 years at Barbour County Schools before finding my place! Zion is definitely my place. This is my 9th year at Zion Chapel. While here I have taught everything from Calculus to 7th grade math. This year's role has me teaching Algebra 2, Geometry, and Math Modeling.

I live in Louisville, Alabama with my husband and our 2 boys. We have dogs, horses, cows, chickens, a hermit crab, and a mini rabbit. Our family loves to do anything outdoors! My hobbies include anything math (yes, I'm a nerd and proud of it), watching my boys play nerf gun war or pretend to be on a treasure hunt, or journaling in my bible. I believe the Lord has led me to Zion Chapel for a reason and I am ready to fulfill His will! I am eager to travel on this math adventure with the students of Zion Chapel. I look forward to working with the students, faculty and community!Go Rebels!
