ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Good Morning Students…

Spring Pictures are scheduled for this Friday, April 6th.

Percussion Auditions the Zion Chapel Marching Band will occur Tuesday through Thursday of this week from 3:00-5:30. Anyone interested should attend.

There is a meeting for all Marching Band Auxiliary members this Thursday at 3:15 in Mrs. Jackson's room. Please plan on being in attendance.

If you are going to play football you must sign up on the sheet outside of Mrs. Shelly Nelson’s door this week.

AP Students who owe AP exam fees need to pay Mrs. Parker by Friday, May 4th.

This Friday, Altrusa of Jack is sponsoring “CAPS FOR A CURE.” Students can pay $1.00 to wear a cap while at school on Friday. All proceeds will benefit Relay for Life and The American Cancer Society. This is for every student in grades Pre-K through 12th…Jr. High and High School Students who pay a dollar will receive an armband that shows that they paid. Money will be collect Friday morning by your 1st period teacher and an SGA Representative will come around to collect the money. Students…please participate in this event and help Astra raise money for Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. Students,…if teachers ask you to take your hat off in class…you are to do so. Also…do not let me catch you wearing a hat on Friday if you didn’t pay a dollar to your 1st period teacher on Friday morning!

One lucky 7th – 12th grade student with perfect attendance for the month of April will win a 7” RCA Tablet with keyboard. It pays to have perfect attendance!

Students…let me remind you that your vehicles, lockers, etc. are subject to being searched at any time. Law enforcement and drug dogs will be used during searches. Disciplinary actions will be taken for violations and arrests will be made for criminal violations. That being said…do not bring anything onto this campus that is contrary to board policy.

Students…Be sure that you are in compliance with the dress code at all times! Gentlemen…your shirts are to be tucked in at all times! SENIORS…THIS APPLIES TO YOU AS WELL!!! Young ladies…be sure that shirts over tights are fingertip length!   Teachers…please help us monitor this and correct any issues that may arise with this. Also…assign the young men break detention when you see them with their shirts untucked!

Students…remember that cell phones are to be kept in your lockers during the entirety of the school day! We will be having random cell phone checks on a regular basis this semester!

Baseball, Softball, and Prom proofs are due back to Mrs. Jackson by April 6th.

Volleyball Tryouts are scheduled for the week of April 9th from 3:15 – 5:00. You must have a current physical on file in the office in order to try out.

Cross Country Tryouts will be April 16th and 18th. You must have a current physical on file in the office in order to try out.

Any 6th grade boy that wants to try out for basketball needs to sign up at Mrs. Sander’s class. There is a signup sheet on the outside of Coach Robison’s door for all those who want to tryout in grades 7-11. Tryouts will be the week of April 23rd. You must have a current physical on file in the office in order to try out.

Coach Robison will not be having open gym this afternoon and Coach Bryant wanted me to announce that there will be no 6th grade workouts after school today as well.

The Varsity Baseball Team will host New Brockton this evening. Game begins at 4:30

The Varsity Softball Team will compete in the Ariton Varsity Softball Tournament on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The Varsity Baseball Team will travel to play New Brockton on Friday evening. The game begins at 4:30.

There is an AP Calculus Study Session at Daleville on Saturday.
